Message Disco Potato: "THE COMPRESSOR IS A .60 A/R T04B HOUSING RUNNING A 60mm 62 TRIM WHEEL WITH AN EXTENDED "B" WIDTH. THE TURBINE SIDE IS A .86 A/R WITH AN INCONEL NS111 9 BLADE 53.8MM 76 TRIM WHEEL."

This is taken directly from JWT website.

COMPRESSOR:
It is using a compressor housing same as HKS 2530 (T04B) and wheel nearly identical to an HKS GT2530 BB turbo....

2530: = 60.1mm 63 trim—“very efficient high B width 60 trim T-3 in a large diffusor .60 a/r TO4B compressor housing” --
this is a quote from an earlier post by Mike K.

Potato: 60.2mm 62 trim. The potato compressor IS A .60 A/R T04B HOUSING RUNNING A 60mm 62 TRIM WHEEL WITH AN EXTENDED "B" WIDTH

Conclusion: The 2530 and Disco Potato seem virtually identical on the compressor side. (wrt wheel size and trim and housing)

Turbine:

2530: Excellent 9 blade NS111 turbine with an excellent 72% efficency and 16 lb/min flow capacity with the .64 a/r turbine housing. 53.8 mm 76 trim turbine compressor wheel.
~Again from Mike K's earlier post.

Potato: THE TURBINE SIDE IS A .86 A/R WITH AN INCONEL NS111 9 BLADE 53.8MM 76 TRIM WHEEL.

Conclusion: The Potato is identical to 2530 on turbine side except that it has an .86 A/R housing. (vs .64)

I am no turbo expert. But I have done some research for a turbo purchase I've recently made, and the disco potato was one that I seriously considered and Jim Wolfe offered to make as a prototype for my car at the same time as doing Mike K's.

It seems to me the Disco Potato is almost identical to the GT2530 but with a larger turbine A/R. Thus it would have a little better topend than the 2530 but also have a little more lag. But that is just my conclusion for what its worth.

BTW, I've heard of people buying a .86A/R turbine housing and putting them on the 2530's for a little more topend--so perhaps the potato is not all that new of a concept.
